Zakhor is not a closed library: it is a living workshop, continually nourished by those who pass on. Each name recovered, each place documented, each memory entrusted enriches a shared heritage — that of an entire people and of each of its families.
Whether you carry a family history, are a researcher, an archivist, or are simply devoted to this memory, there is a way to contribute on your own scale. No technical skill is required: only the desire not to let things fade away.

One lineage, one coordinator. Zakhor's 7,390 published lineages each await a steward: someone who gathers the family memory, checks the sources and watches over their lineage's Great Book.

Your coordinator missions
Coordinating a lineage means becoming its volunteer steward: you gather its memory, watch over its Great Book and bring its community of descendants to life. Concretely, six missions await you.
- Watch over your lineage's Grand Livre and verify the sources
- Solicit contributions from your family: documents, photos, testimonies
- Gathering family memory: narratives, archival items, objects
- Animate social media with the material provided

- Support and review the contributions received
No expertise is required: an attachment to your lineage and a little time are enough. The collective provides the tools, the material and the support.

Add a name, a place, a community, a document, or correct an existing entry. Each submission is reviewed by the editorial committee, which responds within 48 h.

Editorial coordination
Guardian of the quality standard: review queue, memory/history and epistemic registers, prioritisation of projects.

Auditing the generated and seeded Great Books: real sources, hunting down approximations, solid bibliography.
Genealogy
The pillar of lineages: validation, merging of duplicates, new lineages from members, trees and relationships.
Archival Items & texts
Transcription, cataloguing, links between texts, authors and places (Friedberg, National Library of Israel / Ktiv).
Documents & archives
Curation of the tens of thousands of items today merely linked: annotating and attaching key documents to subjects.
Testimonies & oral memory
Gathering accounts, photographs and family memories — the living register of memory.
Translation & Jewish languages
The remaining languages towards the objective of twenty, and the Jewish languages: Judeo-Arabic, Ladino, Yiddish.
Outreach & diaspora
