Collection of halakhic responses in the handwriting of the Gaon Rabbi Shalom Mashash. * Five responses in his handwriting and signed by him [most from the period of his residence in Morocco]. * Pages in his handwriting, with lists and drafts of his rulings. * A large collection of pages that were used to print the four parts of his work — Teshuvot Tevuot Shemesh [Jerusalem, 5739-5741]. Includes: halakhic responses, printed on a typewriter [according to the account, Rabbi Mashash printed them himself by hand], some signed with a stamp or in his handwriting (stamps from the period of his service in Morocco); pages of photographs from his handwriting, with corrections and additions in manuscript. * Book Naḥalat Avot, by Rabbi Isaac Coryat. Livorno, [5659 / 1899]. Personal dedication: "It was given to me by our master Rabbi Shim'on Abu-Ḥatzira, may he be remembered, Shalom Mashash, may his memory be blessed". [Apparently, he received it from Rabbi Shim'on Abuḥatzira, who served as a judge in his Bet Din in Casablanca]. The Gaon Rabbi Shalom Mashash (5629-5763), among the greatest judges and legal authorities of the generation. From 5715 he served as Chief Rabbi and head of the Bet Din in Casablanca, Morocco; in 5736 he went up to the Holy City of Jerusalem to serve as Chief Rabbi and head of the chief courts. He composed many works, in halakha and in aggadah: "Mizraḥ Shemesh", "Bet Shemesh", "Ḥom ha-Shemesh", "Teshuvot Tevuot Shemesh", "Teshuvot Shemesh u-Magen" and more. Hundreds of pages. Varying dimensions, overall good condition.

Passover Haggadah, Blessing of Song, with commentaries by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Tzintz. Warsaw, [5642] 1882. On the title page and final leaf there are inscriptions and signatures in cursive and childlike handwriting of Rabbi Menachem Zemba: "The honorable Menachem Zemba from Warsaw"; "Menachem son of our teacher [=son of our teacher Rabbi Eliezer, blessed be his memory] grandson [=grandson of Rabbi] Abraham Zemba". The Gaon Rabbi Menachem Zemba (5643-perished in the Holocaust 5703), was born in Warsaw to his father Rabbi Eliezer, was orphaned at about age nine and raised in the home of his grandfather Rabbi Abraham Zemba. From his youth he was known as a prodigy and outstanding scholar. He studied Torah in the study halls of Warsaw, where he established many disciples. He was the most famous of the geniuses of Poland in his generation, one of the heads of the "Council of Torah Sages" in Poland and member of the "Rabbinical Council" in Warsaw. All the great sages of Lithuania and Poland acknowledged his scholarly greatness as one of the greats of the generation. He perished in the "Warsaw Ghetto Uprising" on Passover 1943. From his works "Fruits of Life", "Seed of Abraham" and others, most of his Torah novellae were lost in the Holocaust. Nine pages, 20.5 cm. Dry paper, fair condition, stains and blemishes. On final page tears and crude adhesions. Worn binding. Edition unknown bibliographically. Another edition of the 5641 1880 edition, but beyond the title page censor approval dated January 14, 1882. In the "Treasury of Haggadot" nos. 1577-1579 three editions printed in 1880 appear with censor approvals from 1880, but this Haggadah with approval from 1882 was not recorded.

At the end of the book of Deuteronomy is added the passage (in Hebrew) "The Excellence of Moses" — on the greatness of Moses our teacher (not listed on the bibliography project CD). [1], CCVIII; 376-209, [1] pages. 20 cm. Good condition, stains. Light restoration on title page. Markings. Composite leather binding with restoration of the ancient binding.

Volume II in good to fair condition. Damage to cover and several pages. Old bindings, with leather spine. The printer's flag with the name "Samuel the Printer". On the cover of part I the name was erased from the imprint [in some of the forms], after the partnership between Joseph Cohen and Samuel the Printer was dissolved [see about this in the article by M. Wunder, The Hebrew Printing Press in Poland – Alei Sefer, 5, 5738, p. 125].
