The Execration Texts are Egyptian hieratic inscriptions naming the pharaoh's enemies. Two main series constitute the first historical mentions of biblical cities — Ashkelon, Beth-Shean, Hazor, Jerusalem (Rusalimum), Acre, and Shechem — documenting the progressive urbanization of the land where Abraham would arrive.
