Tarshish & Divan de Moshé ibn Ezra

Unique manuscript of the complete poetic œuvre of Moshé ibn Ezra (c. 1055 - after 1138), the great Andalusian poet: it contains the Tarshish (10 sections, 1,210 strophes), dedicated to Avraham ibn Ezra, followed by the secular and sacred Divan. 324 folios, quarto, copy later than 1500. Total: 12,000 distichs, of which only 107 + 191 were published by Shadal in Kerem Ḥemed IV. A piece noted by Joseph Luzzatto as the only known copy in the nineteenth century. The frontispiece is in the hand of Yaakov Roman, an earlier owner; the first page, encrusted with ink, was cleaned by Shadal himself.
