Marot ha-Tzove'ot — “The Mirrors of the Hosts” (cf. Exodus 38:8) — a kabbalistic work by David ben R. Yehuda, author of the Sefer Or Zarua, appearing as no. 84 in the Luzzatto Catalogue 1868 and noted among the 12 most precious pieces. Catalogue data: 97 leaves, folio, unpublished; copy completed at Lag ba-Omer 5266 = 1506 (the catalogue erroneously prints “1606”). The manuscript reportedly contains only part of the work. The author is most likely the kabbalist David ben Yehuda he-Ḥasid (late 13th – early 14th c.); Joseph Luzzatto, however, expresses doubt about this attribution. Probable, not certain, attribution.
