The Inquiry Book "Path of Faith", essay "The Root of the Commandment of Prayer" from the book "Path of Your Commandments", and additional Hasidic essays. Ashkenazi script [19th century]. The Inquiry Book was first printed in Poltova in 1912 by Rabbi Chaim Eliezer Bichovsky, who gave the book the title "Path of Faith". This book deals with proofs of faith in the Creator and the creation of the world, according to Hasidic and philosophical thought. The Rebbe Menachem Mendel from Lubavitch writes in the introduction to the 1955 edition: that according to what was reported by the Lubavitch Rebbes, "The Inquiry Book" was written by the Admor Tzimach Tzedek after his journey to Petersburg in 1843, and the religious discussions, the teachings of Israel, Kabbalah and Hasidism that took place there. "But as is his custom in sacred matters, he also added to it afterward, in any case there was a necessity and a sign of the times and an answer to questions that came from a particular circle and according to his views and opinions". The manuscript before us differs from the printed edition, both in the number and order of chapters, [for example vol. 2 in the manuscript is vol. 3 in print, and vol. 3 in the manuscript is vol. 2 in print] and many other changes. At the end of the "Beikoel" before us is the essay "Gate of Prayer – On the Root of the Commandment of Prayer", which is also printed in the book "Path of Your Commandments" by the author of "Tzimach Tzedek", and Hasidic essays: "Return Israel" "In Sukkot You Shall Dwell" "And You Shall Take for Yourselves" and other Hasidic essays. 197 written pages. 19 cm.
