Includes: halakhic responses, printed on a typewriter [according to the account, Rabbi Mashash printed them himself by hand], some signed with a stamp or in his handwriting (stamps from the period of his service in Morocco); pages of photographs from his handwriting, with corrections and additions in manuscript. * Book Naḥalat Avot, by Rabbi Isaac Coryat. Livorno, [5659 / 1899]. Personal dedication: "It was given to me by our master Rabbi Shim'on Abu-Ḥatzira, may he be remembered, Shalom Mashash, may his memory be blessed". [Apparently, he received it from Rabbi Shim'on Abuḥatzira, who served as a judge in his Bet Din in Casablanca]. The Gaon Rabbi Shalom Mashash (5629-5763), among the greatest judges and legal authorities of the generation. From 5715 he served as Chief Rabbi and head of the Bet Din in Casablanca, Morocco; in 5736 he went up to the Holy City of Jerusalem to serve as Chief Rabbi and head of the chief courts. He composed many works, in halakha and in aggadah: "Mizraḥ Shemesh", "Bet Shemesh", "Ḥom ha-Shemesh", "Teshuvot Tevuot Shemesh", "Teshuvot Shemesh u-Magen" and more. Hundreds of pages. Varying dimensions, overall good condition.
