❧ Description
Menachem Mendel Ussishkin, letter in his handwriting and with his signature, apparently sent to Prof. Boris Schatz, founder of "Bezalel", on official stationery of the "Committee of the Society for Support of Bnei Yisrael Who Work the Land and Tradesmen in Syria and Eretz Israel". Odessa, 1910.
Ussishkin expresses his delight over the development of the Bezalel school, especially on "the founding of the new village", apparently he meant the Yemenite Artist Colony in Kerem Ben Shemen established by Prof. Schatz that year. He responds to Schatz' intention to travel to Yemen to bring Jews to Eretz Israel (to the colony?), and writes extensively on the necessity to purchase land and on other matters.
27 cm. Leaf written on both sides. Good condition, few stains and minor tears, folding marks and file holes.
