1850 Jewish bookplates. Rare, important, and extensive collection of Jewish bookplates. The collection includes many bookplates created by artists Herman Struck, Yosef Bodek, Efraim Moshe Lilien, Arthur Szyk, Ze'ev Raban, Miron Sima, and many other artists – some of them are original etchings and prints, signed in pencil with the artist's signature; among them can be found an original bookplate, hand-drawn by artist Ze'ev Raban; a hand-drawn bookplate made for Heinrich Loewe, as well as a bookplate hand-drawn by poet Leah Goldberg. A significant portion of the collection is devoted to institutional bookplates, including hundreds of bookplates that were in use by research institutes, libraries, university collections, and other research institutions. Attached to the collection are several unique and large-format bookplates — etchings and large prints by several artists, including a wood engraving signed by Ya'akov Pines, in which an open book is visible; a signed and numbered etching in honor of an exhibition of Jewish bookplates in Jerusalem and more. A rare collection in its scope and quality. The collection, organized in six albums, came from the hands of a private collector who collected them one by one over many years.
