Description

Imhotep, vizier of Pharaoh Djoser, is the first known architect, physician and sage in history. Designer of the Step Pyramid — humanity's first monumental stone construction — he was deified after death. The pyramid era he inaugurated is the context in which rabbinic tradition places Hebrew slavery in Egypt.
