Description

Ḥefetz Hashem — "The Lord's Desire" — Talmudic novellae by Ḥayyim ibn Attar, composed at Salé before his emigration to Livorno (1739). It is his first major printed work, predating the Or ha-Ḥayim by ten years, and already revealing of his hermeneutic approach: the systematic interweaving of peshat, derash and sod (kabbalistic).
