Attack on a kosher grocery store

JC Kosher Supermarket was a small kosher grocery on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City, New Jersey, opened to serve the Hasidic community then settling in the Greenville neighborhood, driven out by Brooklyn's prices. On December 10, 2019, two assailants arriving in a van first shot a police detective in a nearby cemetery, then entered the store and opened fire; a prolonged exchange of gunfire with police followed. The detective, the store owner, an employee, and a customer lost their lives. The perpetrators claimed affiliation with the Black Hebrew Israelites movement, certain fringes of which espouse openly antisemitic views.
