German soldiers enter the house of Giuseppe Pardo Roques, president of the Pisa community, where several people had taken refuge, and kill those they find there, Jews and non-Jews alike. The massacre of the Pardo Roques house is committed in early summer, as the front approaches the city. The bodies are discovered a few days later. A plaque today commemorates the names in front of the house in Pisa.
