Missour, on the upper Moulouya, is among the camps of the Transsaharan railway where foreign worker groups are employed. Internees break stone and level the track bed there. The heat, the lack of water, and the absence of medical care make this worksite one of the most dreaded in the protectorate; the sick are sent back to work for lack of an infirmary, and postwar accounts describe men who leave only in a state of exhaustion. The Missour camp will close with the worksite, whose line was never completed.
