The camp belonged to the Transsaharan network and received foreign Jewish workers, refugees from Central Europe for the most part. The sick are rare in the registers and numerous in the accounts. Foum Defla appears on no map of the protectorate open to the public; its name has survived only through the Memory of those who returned from it.
