Ketubah for the marriage of the groom Meir son of Eliezer ha-Levi with the bride Mazal. Sophia (Bulgaria), 5649 [1889]. Cut in half at the top and decorated with pasted flower illustrations. Title in purple ink: "Be a good sign at the time of blessing and success with the luck of the sprout and the world". Divided into four sections: ketubah text, terms document, and two additional documents regarding the dowry [one of them in Ladino]. Witness signatures. In the margins of the ketubah a certification with signature and stamp "Dr. Shimon Dankaowitz – Chief Rabbi in the Land of Bulgaria". Maximum height: 56 cm. Condition fair. Stains, several tears. Fold marks and creases. Repaired damage at fold marks. Faded or chipped ink in several places.
