Abraham Shlonsky (1900-1973), two handwritten letters, addressed to the writer and linguist Isaac Avineiri. Tel Aviv, 1954. Written by hand on letterhead of "Sifriyat Po'alim". Shlonsky provides lengthy comments in response to the matter which Avineiri is dealing with in his column in the newspaper "Al Ha-Mishmar", and the missing letter 'b' (at that hour / at that hour): "We all labor, each man according to his strength, to create (not something from nothing, heaven forbid!) a Hebrew language that has faces, that people – and different people – speak. This diversity is a great principle in a living language..."; in his second letter, Shlonsky discusses combinations of "ey" (where, when, which), "someone" and "whoever", and other linguistic questions.
