Description
Stone block surmounting the entrance of an ancient synagogue, sculpted with motifs such as the menorah, the crown, the eagle, or the garland. Several come from the synagogues of Galilee such as Capernaum.
Significance
They attest to the monumental architecture of the Galilean synagogues and their iconographic repertoire.
