A collection of manuscripts on parchment and papyrus in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, comprising biblical, apocryphal, and sectarian texts, discovered from 1947 onward. The great Isaiah Scroll is one of its jewels.
Significance
They constitute the oldest witnesses to the biblical text and shed light on Second Temple Judaism.
