Weissenburg (Weißenburg in Bayern), an imperial town in Franconia, is mentioned in medieval sources as the seat of a Jewish community in the twelfth through fourteenth centuries. As in other imperial towns of Franconia, the Jews were expelled in the fifteenth century.
