Pidhaytsi (Podhajce in Polish), a city in eastern Galicia (Ternopil oblast, Ukraine), had a Jewish community since the 16th century, integrated into regional economic life. During the Shoah, under German occupation, the community was exterminated during Aktionen organized in 1942–1943.
