A medieval English town, Northampton was home to a Jewish community documented in the 12th and 13th centuries, with an Archa (chest of credit deeds) attested in English royal records. The Jews of Northampton were affected by the restrictive measures of the Plantagenet kings and were finally expelled in 1290.
