Manosque (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) was home to a well-documented medieval Jewish community, notably evidenced by fourteenth-century notarial records attesting to its call (Jewish quarter) and the economic activity of its members, chiefly moneylenders and merchants. The community was affected by the persecutions of 1348 and disappeared definitively following the expulsion from Provence in 1501.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Manosque give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
