Hebrew poet born in Bender (Bessarabia) in a Jewish family, arrived as a child to Ein Harod (1924) where he lived until his death. One of the first members and poets of the Palmach: he wrote the Palmach Hymn (1941) and co-edited with Matti Megged the Book of the Palmach (Sefer HaPalmach, 1950-1953), a major anthology of the era.
