Savant juif yéménite du XVe siècle, surnommé « ha-Rofé » (le médecin) / al-Tabib. Sa famille était originaire de Dhamar. Il pratiqua la médecine et fut un commentateur prolifique de la Bible, de la Mishna et de l'œuvre de Maïmonide, en mêlant hébreu, judéo-arabe et araméen.
