Yemenite-Israeli halakhic authority, dayan of the Supreme Rabbinical Court and one of the principal leaders of the Yemenite community in Israel. He is the editor and translator of reference works of Maimonides (Guide for the Perplexed, Commentary on the Mishnah, Mishneh Torah restored from Yemenite manuscripts) and of Saadia Gaon (Emounot ve-Deot), Bahya ibn Paquda, Juda Halevi, etc. Laureate of the Israel Prize.
