Descendant de la dynastie de Dynów, il devint Rebbe de Bluzhov en 1931. Survivant de Bergen-Belsen (où il tint un Seder resté célèbre, à la source des Hasidic Tales of the Holocaust), il reconstruisit la dynastie aux États-Unis et siégea au Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah.
