History register · custodian, not owner
One of the great rabbis of Yemen in the nineteenth century, he directed the central yeshiva of Sanaa and was a guide to the community of Kawkaban. He had as disciples Rabbi Shalom Alshich (future chief rabbi of the Yemenite Jews of Jerusalem) and Rabbi Abraham al-Naddaf. His halakhic and exegetical work is a reference in the Yemenite tradition.
