Membre de la grande famille de banquiers da Pisa de Toscane. Auteur de traités qui circulèrent d'abord en manuscrit puis furent imprimés plus tard : un traité sur le crédit et l'intérêt (Hayyei Olam / Ma'amar Hayei Olam) et Minhat Kena'ot, ouvrage critiquant l'aristotélisme et défendant une approche kabbalistique. Ses œuvres furent éditées aux XIXe–XXe s. (Minhat Kena'ot par D. Kaufmann, Berlin 1898 ; Hayyei Olam par G. S. Rosenthal, 1962).
