Rebbe of Husiatyn, great-great-grandson of R. Israël of Ruzhin. Son-in-law and successor of R. Yisroel Friedman of Husiatyn, he emigrated with the family to the Land of Israel in 1937 and settled in Tel Aviv, where he was an ardent advocate of religious Zionism (Mizrahi movement). Many of his sermons delivered in Tel Aviv between 1937 and 1956 were collected in his sefer « Ohalei Yaakov ».
