אוריאל אופק

Born in Tel-Aviv, he was editor of the children's supplement of the newspaper Davar (Davar li-Yeladim) and holds a doctorate in children's literature (University of Toronto). He laid the foundations for the bibliography of Jewish children's literature in Hebrew and Yiddish, published numerous children's books and translated world children's literature into Hebrew. Recipient of the Lamdan Prize (1965) and the Ze'ev Prize (1976).
