Create the Great Book with our AIRegion: Berlin
History register · custodian, not owner
Born in Berlin in a Jewish family, theater critic from his adolescence. In 1905 he founded the journal Die Schaubühne, which he renamed Die Weltbühne in 1918 and directed until his death — one of the great organs of the independent intellectual left of the Weimar Republic. While not a Zionist, he fought assimilation and Jewish "camouflage".
