Born in Tel-Aviv to writer Nathan Agmon, Ph.D. from the Sorbonne (1949). Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, world authority on elliptic PDEs and spectral theory of Schrödinger operators. Laureate of the Israel Prize in Mathematics (1991) and the EMET Prize (2007).
