Sergueï Davidovitch Izgiyaev, born in 1922 near Derbent (Daghestan) and a Mountain Jew (Juhuro), member of the Union of Soviet Writers (1963). Author of nine poetry collections and five plays, translator and lyricist of more than thirty songs; he also wrote for Judeo-Tat theater and translated into Juhuri from Russian, Avar and Azeri. He is renowned for his love poetry in Judeo-Tat.
