Éditeur chrétien de livres hébraïques, né à Zwettl, en Basse-Autriche, le 23 janvier 1765, mort à Vienne le 27 juin 1855. Entré en 1785 comme apprenti chez l'imprimeur de cour Kurzbeck, dont il racheta les caractères hébraïques, il obtint de l'empereur François II le privilège d'imprimer des livres hébreux, profitant en 1800 de l'interdiction d'importation pour réimprimer les éditions de Wolf Heidenheim ; il publia notamment la Bible hébraïque avec traduction allemande et le commentaire des Biuristes, le Talmud et le périodique Bikkure ha-'Ittim.
