Née Sabine Chwast à Varsovie, elle épouse Miron Zlatin (Juif originaire de Russie/Biélorussie). Membre de l'OSE, elle organise en 1943 la Maison d'Izieu, refuge d'enfants juifs, razziée par Klaus Barbie le 6 avril 1944 (44 enfants et 7 adultes déportés, dont son mari Miron, assassiné). Elle publie ses mémoires en 1992.
