Israeli holder of a doctorate in Talmud (Hebrew University of Jerusalem). She founded in 1989 a secular, egalitarian, and pluralistic beit midrash in Jerusalem, then in 1996 ALMA (Tel-Aviv), a center of Jewish culture for secular audiences. Member of Knesset (Yesh Atid, 2013–2015), her first speech interpreting a Talmudic text went viral. She is the author of literary rereadings of Talmudic narratives that highlight women's voices.
