Poète et romancier juif né dans le quartier de la Charâa à Constantine, ancien collaborateur d'Alger Républicain et proche de l'écrivain Malek Haddad. Son roman Berechit (Denoël, 1991) évoque les quartiers juifs de Constantine ; il publia aussi le recueil Le Jeune homme-Silence (1963).
