Poet and novelist born in the Charâa quarter of Constantine, former contributor to Alger Républicain and close to writer Malek Haddad. His novel Berechit (Denoël, 1991) evokes the Jewish quarters of Constantine; he also published the poetry collection The Young Man–Silence (1963).
