Né en 1909 à Bucarest dans une famille juive, il se convertit au christianisme en 1938 et devint pasteur luthérien. Emprisonné et torturé quatorze ans par le régime communiste roumain, il est l'auteur de « Tortured for Christ » et « Christ on the Jewish Road ».
