Austrian actor born on July 18, 1849 in Bochnia. After difficult beginnings in Tyrnau and a first unhappy marriage with soprano Hedwig Reicher-Kindermann, he experiences a new flourishing after his remarriage to Lina Harf, winning a first success in the role of Justinian in Sardou's "Theodora" at the Residenztheater in Berlin, then brilliantly confronting the great Italian tragedian Ernesto Rossi as Iago opposite his Othello. He devotes himself above all to modern drama, in particular to Ibsen characters, and stages the mystical play "G Ἁ A" by Goldschmidt, refused elsewhere in Europe.

REICHER, EMANUEL

This entry is not yet translated: it is shown in French.
