Chanteur et compositeur de musique arabo-andalouse, figure majeure de la chanson tunisienne, célèbre notamment pour ses 'talils' (compliments et vœux adressés aux invités lors des réjouissances). Son répertoire reste chanté dans les communautés juives de Tunisie, d'Israël et de France.
