Fils du kabbaliste Rabbi Yaakov Pinto de Marrakech (oncle du célèbre Rabbi Haïm Pinto le Grand), il compta parmi les sages de Marrakech, où il cosigna un jugement rabbinique en 1748. Réputé « versé dans les miracles », il quitta Marrakech pour Ouarzazate — selon la tradition, en raison d'une intention de prière (kavana) divergente de celle des kabbalistes de Marrakech — et y tint une yeshiva de trente-cinq élèves près de Taourirt. Il cosigna encore un jugement avec les sages de Marrakech en 1778. Son ouvrage « Lekah Tov » (sermons sur la Torah, en trois parties) a récemment été publié ; il est enterré à Ouarzazate.
