Son of the Rosh, he composed the Arba'ah Turim (Four Columns), a halakhic codification that organized Jewish law into four parts—an architecture taken up by Joseph Caro in the Shulhan Arukh. His work bridges the Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions.
