À la tête d'un groupe de kabbalistes à Taroudant, il vécut à l'époque du Ari (il y a environ 450 ans) et forma de nombreux disciples. Son ouvrage « Heikhal haKodesh » fut publié par Rabbi Yaakov Sasportas et imprimé en 1640, avec les gloses de Rabbi Yehouda Asbaoni qui y introduisit l'enseignement du Ari, alors inconnu de l'auteur.
