Né en Turquie en 1892, élève des sages de Bursa et d'Istanbul (dont R. Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari). Fondateur à Jérusalem du centre d'étude « Chevrat Ahavat Chaim », il fut une figure de la communauté séfarade et beau-père de R. Ovadia Yosef.
