Rabbin contemporain, décédé peu avant la rédaction, qui n'épargna aucun effort pour retrouver, y compris dans des lieux reculés, des manuscrits de sages marocains. Il faisait appel à des experts pour déchiffrer et reconstituer les écrits abîmés, puis en finançait l'impression. Avec le professeur Rabbi Moshe Amar, il dirigea les instituts « Machon Orot » et mit à la disposition de l'auteur quelque 140 ouvrages de sa bibliothèque.
