Né en Hongrie en 1884, il émigra en Angleterre et s'établit à Leeds. Son épouse Fanny et son fils Elimelech Shimshon furent assassinés à Auschwitz. Il publia à Leeds en 1942 son ouvrage Sefer BeAchrit Hayomim (« À la fin des jours »). Il monta en Israël en janvier 1958 et mourut à Netanya en avril 1959.
