On raconte qu'un jour, passant au marché, une non-Juive cracha sur lui depuis sa fenêtre ; il prononça aussitôt le Nom ineffable et deux cornes poussèrent sur la tête de la femme, l'une dressée vers le haut, l'autre pointée vers le bas. Après qu'elle eut exprimé son repentir et apaisé le rabbin, elle recouvra son état. De nombreux signes et miracles semblables lui sont attribués. Enseveli dans la grotte d'Oufran, où son épitaphe le nomme « le Rav prodigieux en miracles, Rabbi Chlomo ben-Abou ». Cité par Rabbi Yossef ben-Naïm (Malkhei-Rabbanan).
