Sage and kabbalist of Morocco, Chief Rabbi of Safi; hiloula on 2 Adar. He composed « Minha Beloula » (Casablanca, 1937), a collection of laws in Judeo-Arabic (Maghrebi), reissued in facsimile in 1997 with an approbation by Rabbi Chalom Messas, and « Minhat Moché » (Casablanca, 1944), containing kabbalistic texts, « yehi ratzon » and « lechem yihoud ». Died on 3 Adar II 5706 (1946) and buried in Safi; his descendants perpetuate his hiloula in the synagogue bearing his name in Ashkelon.
