Chantre (hazan) attitré de la synagogue de Rabbi Raphaël Encaoua et trésorier (gizbar) de la communauté de Salé. À la demande de Rabbi Raphaël, ému de voir le cimetière profané et sans clôture, il obtint d'un riche marchand de Casablanca, M. Toledano, un don important qui permit d'édifier le mur d'enceinte, de paver une allée et de poser un portail de fer.
